Bird Celebrates 80th Anniversary

Solon, OH - April 2022

Bird, a world-wide leader in RF test, measurement, and network coverage enhancement equipment, is celebrating its 80th anniversary in April 2022.

“Thanks to our employees, who contribute to our success with their time, talents, and technical innovations, we have developed into the successful company we are today”, says Terry Grant, Chief Executive Officer & President.  “We plan to thank our associates for their contributions with a company-wide picnic this summer. I also want to recognize the invaluable contributions of our long-term customers and partners for their commitment and trusting cooperation. Without all of them, the company’s success would not have been possible.”

The company’s history began with James R. Bird and a partner in April 1942 in a small workshop in Cleveland. In its earliest years, Bird developed radio frequency instrumentation for the military. Today, now headquartered in Solon, Ohio, has grown into an industry-leading provider of RF communication products and calibration services to the semiconductor, public safety, broadcast, cellular, military, government, and medical markets.

Most recently, Bird has expanded RF technology and calibration improvements for semiconductor industry customers. Bird’s new 7037 Series in-line RF Power Sensor is the most advanced RF sensor on the market, bringing NIST traceable 0.5% in-line power measurement accuracy across the full-scale RF power dynamic range. For applications that demand precise RF power measurement, Bird's advanced pulse and continuous wave RF sensors are engineered to help customers minimize RF process variability, improve plasma chamber-to-chamber matching, and provide critical insight into RF delivery systems.
